**The criteria are divided into key skills that a professional massage therapist needs to have.**

Technical Skills

  • Standard technique: correct sequence, appropriate force, even hand movement

  • Accurate touch: correct acupoints, correct muscle lines, correct rehabilitation focus

  • Smooth, continuous movement, no rush

  • Control of force and breathing: light touch but with force, even breathing rhythm with movements

🔎 This criterion is especially important for healing, relaxation, and acupressure.

Procedure – Proper Technique

  • Logical massage sequence: beginning – middle – end clearly defined

  • Combine multiple scientific techniques: know how to use a combination of appropriate actions (press, squeeze, rub, stroke, pull…)

  • Balanced time distribution: avoid too long or too short at one area

  • Personalize according to the model: not mechanical, know how to handle flexibly according to the client's condition

🔎 Suitable for contestants presenting general healing or creative personal essays.

Professional Posture & Conduct

  • Standard Spa work posture: standing, sitting correctly, not hunching, not slouching

  • Good body language: eye contact, smile, natural hands and feet

  • Clean and tidy workspace: clean towels, correct bed arrangement

  • Showing respect for the model and judges: know when to say hello – thank you at the right time

Effectiveness & Model's Reaction

  • The model feels the gentle, relaxed, or released area

  • After completion: rosy cheeks, relaxed face, deep breathing

  • No marks, scratches, or injuries to the skin area

🔎 This is the soft part but extremely important – determines the spread and reputation of the therapist.

Creativity & Practical Application

  • The performance has a unique highlight, difference, and originality

  • Use background music, fragrance, and support tools (if any) in a reasonable way

  • Ability to adapt to real-life situations (e.g., model sensitive, time shortage…)

  • Lead the emotions through the performance (the client feels relaxed from start to finish)

Professional Presentation

  • Wear the correct uniform (uniform, short hair, no sharp jewelry)

  • Prepare the necessary tools, on time

  • Do not talk privately, do not show signs of panic during the competition

  • Follow the instructions from BTC and judges strictly
